About Final Fantasy Heardle

What is Final Fantasy Heardle?

Final Fantasy Heardle is a free music quiz in the browser, inspired by Heardle: you hear 1 s of a Final Fantasy track and guess the game, with longer clips if you need them. Every day brings a new daily challenge, the same for everyone, plus a 30-level quest and unlimited free play.

How to play Final Fantasy Heardle

Press play to hear 1 s of a track, then type the game. Not sure? Unlock a longer clip (1 s, 3 s, 6 s and 12 s): the sooner you answer, the more points you score (4, 3, 2, 1). Name the exact track title afterwards for one more point. You start with 3 hearts and lose one per mistake.

Free play has several modes: Classic, Sudden death (one heart), Time attack (90 seconds), Reverse (find the right clip among three) and Single game. Correct answers in a row build a combo, and the best scores go on the leaderboard.

The music of Final Fantasy

Nobuo Uematsu scored the main series up to Final Fantasy IX, before other composers such as Masashi Hamauzu and Masayoshi Soken took over. The Prelude, the battle themes and the character themes come back in many forms, from 8-bit chiptune to full orchestra. The MMOs Final Fantasy XI and XIV are in too, and the games are listed in release order, from the first game to Final Fantasy XVI.

302 tracks from 16 games: Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XI, Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy XV and Final Fantasy XVI.
