About Zelda Heardle

What is Zelda Heardle?

Zelda Heardle is a free music quiz in the browser, inspired by Heardle: you hear 1 s of a Zelda track and guess the game, with longer clips if you need them. Every day brings a new daily challenge, the same for everyone, plus a 30-level quest and unlimited free play.

How to play Zelda Heardle

Press play to hear 1 s of a track, then type the game. Not sure? Unlock a longer clip (1 s, 3 s, 6 s and 12 s): the sooner you answer, the more points you score (4, 3, 2, 1). Name the exact track title afterwards for one more point. You start with 3 hearts and lose one per mistake.

Free play has several modes: Classic, Sudden death (one heart), Time attack (90 seconds), Reverse (find the right clip among three) and Single game. Correct answers in a row build a combo, and the best scores go on the leaderboard.

The music of The Legend of Zelda

From Koji Kondo's NES melodies to the orchestral scores of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, Zelda has one of the most recognisable soundtracks in gaming. Village themes, dungeons and ocarina songs come back from one game to the next, often rearranged: that is what makes this quiz hard, you have to recognise the version, not just the tune.

826 tracks from 26 games: The Legend of Zelda, The Adventure of Link, A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Oracle of Seasons & Ages, Four Swords, The Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventures, The Minish Cap, Twilight Princess, Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, Phantom Hourglass, Link's Crossbow Training, Spirit Tracks, Ripened Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love, Skyward Sword, A Link Between Worlds, Hyrule Warriors, Tri Force Heroes, My Nintendo Picross: Twilight Princess, Breath of the Wild, Cadence of Hyrule, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and Tears of the Kingdom.
