What is Anime Heardle?

Anime Heardle is a free music quiz in the browser, inspired by Heardle: you hear 1 s of a anime opening track and guess the anime, with longer clips if you need them. Every day brings a new daily challenge, the same for everyone, plus a 30-level quest and unlimited free play.

How to play Anime Heardle

1. Press play to hear 1 s of a track.
2. Type the anime. Not sure? Unlock a longer clip (1 s, 3 s, 6 s and 12 s).
3. Points: 4 / 3 / 2 / 1 depending on how much you listened, +2 more if you type the track title straight away.
4. You start with 3 hearts and lose one per mistake.

Free play has several modes: Classic, Sudden death (one heart), Time attack (90 seconds), Reverse (find the right clip among three) and Single game. Correct answers in a row build a combo, and the best scores go on the leaderboard.

Anime openings

Every Japanese anime opens with a roughly 90-second opening, often by a trending rock or J-pop act: Ikimonogakari for Naruto Shippuden, Linked Horizon for Attack on Titan, LiSA for Demon Slayer, YOASOBI for Oshi no Ko. Long-running series change it every season. The clip is always the original Japanese version: say which anime it comes from.
