What is Celeste Heardle?

Celeste Heardle is a free music quiz in the browser, inspired by Heardle: you hear 1 s of a Celeste track and guess the track title, with longer clips if you need them. Every day brings a new daily challenge, the same for everyone, plus a 30-level quest and unlimited free play.

How the Celeste Heardle quest works

The quest is a 30-level pass whose challenges rotate between game modes. You get one try a day, plus one if you beat the daily challenge, and every few levels unlock XP and cosmetics.

Three cups can also be played without limit: Novice (5 well-known tracks, 3 hearts), Veteran (8 tracks, clip shifted by 20 s, 2 hearts) and Final Boss (5 rare tracks, clip shifted by 15 s, 1 heart).

The music of Celeste

Lena Raine composed Celeste's soundtrack, mixing piano and synthesisers, with a theme for each chapter. The B-Sides are remixes by other artists, and the Farewell chapter adds its own tracks: you have to find the exact title, version included. The music follows Madeline up Celeste Mountain, from the abandoned city to the summit by way of the hotel, the ridge and the temple. The B-Side remixes completely change the style of a theme: the tune is familiar, but the title is not the same.
